William McIlhargey to speak to members of The Indiana Hospital Purchasing & Materiel Management Association (IHPMMA) on challenges and opportunities for hospitals when working with device manufactures. His presentation will provide an overview of the orthopedic industry; manufacturing segments, market positioning of products for joints, spine and trauma, and the resulting impact of industry technology.

Offering innovative contracting with a passion for collaborative negotiations, McIlhargey will propose alternative solutions to traditional price/volume models. Additionally he will provide an understanding of the relations surrounding the surgeon community and discuss the importance of relational approaches in this environment.

William McIlhargey will speak to the San Diego Chapter of HFMA on the “Long and Short of Medical Devices”. His presentation identifies the issues contributing to existing barriers between the economic and clinical influences of medical device contracting. In his presentation McIlhargey also addresses those issues challenging the ability to build relations among hospitals, surgeons and suppliers.

Utilizing a platform for innovative contracting, McIlhargey proposes alternative solutions to traditional contracting models and a better understanding of the surrounding environment when pursuing relational activities. With a passion for collaborative negotiations, McIlhargey will discuss the importance of establishing the value position of new technologies.
